We love finding reasons to play tourist in our own city, and The Rookery is one of them. Built in 1888, it’s beautiful from the street—but the real surprise is inside. Pop in to see Frank Lloyd Wright’s incredible light court. It’s quick, free to peek inside, and absolutely worth the stop.

Want to volunteer with your kids but never quite know where to start? The Honeycomb Project makes it SO easy. They connect Chicago families with hands-on volunteer projects all over the city—from preparing meals to helping in local green spaces. It’s a great way to do some good and spend meaningful time together. Honeycomb is marking 15 years of impact with its Golden Hour Gala on October 1 at The Wellsley—still time to sponsor, donate, buy a ticket!
